
Sorrowful nighttime
A hard, aching rain searching
For the ugly truth
I saw you in the rain
The hazed lonesome night
There was sweetness in the pain
Lost in the city lights
I imagined what could’ve been
Had we not torn apart so brutally
I don’t know where to begin
To tell you my secrets truthfully
Dark clouds gather + block a stifling sun, breaking the heat
of oppressive summer days – we’re in a daze, at a standstill,
shops closed + mask-wearing maniacs stashing cash
under dirty mattresses in case of economic collapse –
