I was eager to see Tennessee –
cigarettes were cheap, people moved slow +
we devoured fried chicken for breakfast –
never ventured into the country, stayed close
to anonymous highways + strip malls
that strip America of originality.

Here’s another picture from our trip to Nashville in 2019. This is a good shot I got of the Parthenon as the sunlight was fading. During one of our last days in the city, we spent some time in Centennial Park, though we didn’t get a chance to go inside the awesome building.
