We snake thru the glorious night,

red lights shining in angry eyes

searching for honey that’s in the

blood-fields, the tundra that’s

thawing as spring comes upon us

Criminals (a poem)

I dream of criminals, being a witness to misdeed

men with dark eyes do dark things in motel rooms

tell me to keep my mouth zippered shut –

I wake with a sense of dread

storm clouds gather outside frosted windows

a woman with an umbrella screams

then runs for her life.

Soldiering On (a poem)

We can soldier through these dark hours if we hold on to faith + meaning –

the government tweeted antisemitism last night, the paranoia set in

we covered the webcam, spoke in whispers

debated if it was intentional

I thought of Viktor Frankl + man’s search for meaning –

humans can exact great suffering on each other,

but they can never take our souls.
