Why Creative Writing is so Therapeutic for Me

Do you have any goals for your blog? I’m not sure if I do. While I dream of making income off my writing, I don’t have any solid plans to do so. And I must admit, I don’t have much of a mind for business.

I started this blog in 2016 with the simple goal of sharing things that interested me – my poetry, fiction, books I’ve read, etc. So far, I’ve stayed pretty close to my original intent. And that brings me to the purpose of this post: to discuss why creative writing is so therapeutic to me.

Reflecting on a Year of the Pandemic Lifestyle

It’s a bit cliché to write a reflection on the pandemic year, but I’m going to do it anyway. It’s been a long year, and it’s also been surprising to me how I’ve gotten used to pandemic lockdowns. Like most people, I was very nervous in the beginning, especially because of my mental health concerns. And as 2020 dragged on and all the terrible things that happened, it hit me emotionally like everyone else. But the pandemic lifestyle hasn’t been all bad.

I’ve been reading more articles about blogging lately and it seems that many of them talk about the benefits of finding a niche. According to this theory, if you corner the market on a specific topic, you can grow your blog’s audience more effectively. But is this necessary?
