Serendipity (a poem)

The problem with sorting out
These probabilities is that
I’ve excluded serendipity

Sometimes, there’s no way
To explain the random chance
Of meeting long-lost loves
Crowded together on street corners

They just appear
Waiting for me, eagerly,
And I’m left to ask
Is this odd or is it God?

More often than not
I think it’s the spirit of the universe
And the good, healthy energies
Putting people in my path

To show the abundance of love
Still out there in the world
