Tyrant in Disguise (a poem)

Are you a friend or foe?
Truly, I don’t know
You creep around so slow
Then you bestow upon me
A guarantee of immortality

I don’t trust prophets like you
And the grand plans you pursue
You appeared, then withdrew
You claim you want to renew
The Kingdom of God

But I find it very odd
That you carry the Upanishads
With you everywhere you go
Is it the government you wish to overthrow?
Stop with your tales of woe

I’m going home now
And I disavow your prophecies
Can’t you see?
The sky, the trees, and the sea?
We’re born to be free

You’re nothing but a tyrant in disguise
I can tell by the look in your eyes
You pretend to be wise
But your body language implies
That my freedom you will deny
