Long, Strange Decay (Poetry Reading)

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I’ve been playing around on Instagram lately and having fun with it. I recently made a video of a reading of one of my recent poems that I wanted to share!

I was inspired to do a recorded poetry reading by something Jennifer at Thistle Thoughts shared recently. One of Jennifer’s friends did a reading of her Jam Jar: Benchmarked prose – and it was fantastic. I highly recommend checking it out – here’s the link.

For my video, I read a short poem called “Long, Strange Decay.” Here’s the video below:

Hope you enjoyed it and let me know what you think! It was fairly simple to make. The hardest part was figuring out how to upload it onto Instagram (lol). I downloaded some free-to-use music that was suitably foreboding and put it in the background.

Thanks for reading (and listening)!

  1. Neat to hear you do a poetry reading. And that horror movie kind of sound that you put underneath added a dread-feeling layer underneath that went really well with your poem.
