My family and I recently spent a long weekend in Ocean City, NJ, soaking up the sun on the beach. In the Philadelphia and New Jersey area, we call this going “down the shore.”
Growing up, my family usually went down the shore every summer. I have some great memories of being at the beach, on the boardwalk at night, and discovering new music at the record stores in town.
This year was the first time Rachel came down with the rest of my family, and we had a great time. In Philly, going down the shore is a tradition and usually the primary vacation for most people.
This was also the first time in a few years I spent a time actually on the beach. My grandfather and I have been going down the past few years, but fishing is the only activity he really likes – he’s not a big beach guy.
Just wanted to share a nice vacation photo. If you feel so inclined, let me know what your summer traditions are. Do you have any favorite vacation spots? If not, what else do you like to do each summer?
It’s almost August already and it’s been super-hot where I am (thanks, climate change). Enjoy the rest of your summertime!
Looks fabulous!
It was! We had great weather.
Beautiful photo! Must’ve been so relaxing and fun. Beaches have their own charm. 🙂
Thank you! It was a great vacation 😌
