The Fairy Woman (a tanka)

Lost in the deep woods

Night began to fall quickly

Shivering in cold

Until the fairy woman

Brought me back home, safe and sound

Author’s Note: This is my first attempt at a tanka, a Japanese form of poetry similar to haiku. I’ve seen many others here on WordPress use the tanka form, and I wanted to give it a try!
