drugs alleviate pain
from terrible torment
but that’s before craving
sets in, like an ogre
dragging at my brain
why do I do this?
I ask, & I never
like the answers
addiction is not a fun game
nor a game at all
just a way in which
I escape reality
drugs alleviate pain
but real pain
comes later on
