we are durable people
roughing thru pandemics,
storms, & various other
upheavals toppling
societal norms
the breaking point
must come sooner
rather than later
when frozen pipes,
price gougers, &
relentless deliriums
make folks show
true stripes
but we are durable people,
let’s not forget
we’ve made it this far
some won’t survive
slipping thru cracks
in safety nets
but those that do,
please remember,
we are durable people
