Author’s Note: The sea monster is a common literary trope taken from folklore and legend. Not sure why this came to me as I was writing six-word stories recently. I picked a photo of the notorious kraken, which is from Scandinavian folklore. In the Norse sagas, the kraken terrorized sailors, according to Wikipedia. The Wikipedia entry on the kraken goes on to say that the legendary sea monster has, since the 18th century, been depicted as a large octopus-like creature. Beware of the kraken!
