the kabbalah ‘til I’m forty years old
but I take sneak peeks
(i never do as I’m told)
but that’s a lie!
i’m not jewish & I wouldn’t
understand kabbalah anyway
but who’s to say
i won’t count the omer
show you i’m a scholar –
maybe I’ll convert like
my partner & become
a rabbi with divinity
in my hazel eyes
