Unplugged (a poem)

The screens go blank:

Androids dream of electric sleep,

and we’re lost in the forest,

unable to navigate.

The noise stops, engines cut

and we’re swimming in silence.

We face each other, gaze into each other’s

vacant eyes and ask, “What do we do now?”
