I said friendship and honesty
I still love you and will always love you
Our connection was deep and passionate
It was full of love and spiritual discussions
You made me feel stronger
Stronger than I’ve been in a long time
I once told you that I would fight
Fight for us, our love
I will, even if I’m not sure what that means
Do I fight for friendship now?
Or should I still fight for true love?
I feel as though we are playing chess
You once said you were a king
That I was your queen
And what is the queen’s main purpose?
To always protect her king
Moving the pieces, ferociously
To protect her love and secure their reign
