I was never much of an artist, but decided to start drawing and coloring again about a year ago. The idea was to express myself creatively in a different way – not just through writing.
Drawing has also been good in helping me calm down when I have intense emotions. In fact, it’s one of the DBT therapy suggestions for “distress tolerance.” I think it’s really helped me.
In this drawing, I tried to imagine what the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden may have looked like. I really like the purple I chose for the mountains in the background. I drew this about a year ago while I was reading the Book of Genesis in the Old Testament and learning some new things about the Jewish faith from my girlfriend, Rachel.
